Heart Full of Bliss

Eyes were glistening with joy. Flowers and chocolates were held firmly out of excitement. Glittery ribbons and laces were being tied. Bunches of roses, daisies and tulips were being organized and were being ready for a bouquet. The color of bravery was seen everywhere I go. Special someone was being asked to be that someone's valentine. It is indeed the day of love happening on the 14th day of February.

Many had been waiting for this day to come as they were excited to hear big yes from their special someone or probably because they were expecting some great thing to happen during the day, but in my case, I just woke up thinking that it'd be an ordinary day. I did nothing special for this day simply because I wasn't expecting anything, I had no plans at all. I did greet my family a simple greeting before I went to school, but as I went to school, I realized that I could somehow make this day a special one not by spending money for extravagant gifts but by letting myself be genuinely happy with the people I consider as my third family; A family which includes my friends, my teachers and some acquaintances I met in school. We expressed our never-ending gratitude to our dear teachers by preparing not that typical surprises, but unique ones. We smiled, laughed, and teased one another because we could not suppress the real emotions we feel inside. We sang songs where lyrics touched everyone's hearts. We delivered our messages with emotions we have gathered from the very beginning ever since this school year started and greeted them a "Happy Valentine's Day". We danced and did vibe with the songs being played in our little speaker. If you'd ask me how was it, I'll summarize and describe it in one word: Blissful.

This may not be the best Valentine I had like how I spent it 4 years ago when I won as Miss Valentine in the first pageant that I've had joined, but it'll remain in my heart and will surely treasure the memories I have shared with the family i found in school. I came to realize that school is not always about learning and teaching but it also gives enjoyment and happiness that I do believe that every student deserves to feel. Another realization is that Valentine's is not always about couples but it also about spending it with your family and friends who are always there for you loving and supporting you.
