With Purity In Everyone's Heart

How can you grow deeper in faith this Lent? These suggestions can guide your efforts.

The Lenten Season is a time of preparation for Easter when we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord. During Lent, we pray to the Lord by studying the Bible, we serve others by giving alms, and we develop self-control by fasting. Genuine respect to Him is very evident to us which only proves that this tradition is still in everyone's hearts.

Based on my observation, people were showing love and respect to Him as they discipline themselves by doing good things with purity in their hearts and limiting and even avoiding things for the sake of this sacred season. Just like in my family, we cooked just vegetables and really avoided eating meat which is unusual to us because we used to always have meat in our dining table each time we all eat. One more thing is that the house was unusually quiet because we prevented ourselves from making too much loud sounds. It was really unusual specially because singing and playing different songs are really our bonding. Additionally, we made time to attend the mass as this is our own way of giving respect to Him. Finally, when the Holy Week ended, we happily welcomed the most important day in the Christian calendar with my family.

Catholic Lenten Season: Everything You Need to Know About Lent
In conclusion, those things I mentioned earlier were the ones that made me proved that Lenten season is indeed a season that we should give respect to our Lord. We ought to love Him in whatever manner we can. Limiting ourselves for the mean time from doing what we usually do in our daily lives is just a simple sacrifice we must willingly do for Him. This is just a small one compared to the things he had done and sacrificed because od the unconditional and never-ending love He have for us.
